One way to help reduce these intake temps and the risk of damage is to add thermal reduction plates to the system which in turn helps to keep conduction from occurring from the cylinder heads to the supercharger and thus making the entire system inefficient by the thermal energy from combustion passing through the cylinder heads to the supercharger and heating up the intercoolers inside of the blower making them less efficient. The plates drastically reduce the heat transfer by keeping the heat in the cylinder heads and off of the supercharger allowing the intercoolers to operate more efficiently, cooling the charged air passing through them.
